My daughter is a total Jesus freak. She loves Jesus like no one else I have ever met. Billy Graham looks like a sometimes-worshipper of Christ compared to this five-year-old bundle of pure Jesus love. Can you see her light shining from your house? It’s so bright we can’t contain it. The purpose of telling you about how crazy for Jesus my girl is to give you background on what is the sweetest and funniest worship song ever sung.
Elizabeth sings to God often. Like every day. She makes up her own words and thanks God for food, for Dr. Pepper, for her family, for her school, for her blankie, for EVERYTHING. She tells God and Jesus how much she loves them, how they are sweet, how they love her, etc. She has a craft project that was a pig made out of a paper plate and she was playing with that in the car this week. Today she started singing about spiders and the song went something like this…
“Jesus protects me from things like spiiiiiiiiiiiders. Jesus loves me and would kill a spider for meeeeeeeeeeee. I love Jeeeeeeeesus!!! I don’t like this spider-pig!!!!!!! Spider-pig, spider-pig, doin’ whatever a spider-pig does, Jesus will stomp on you!!!!!!”
Needless to say, this made me laugh. How cool is my kid? She mixes her love of Jesus with the humor of the Simpsons. She rocks!
